Project Recovery - Rebuilding Los Angeles after the January 2025 Wildfires (ULI Los Angeles, UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and USC Lusk Center for Real Estate)

The nonprofit Urban Land Institute Los Angeles (ULI), in collaboration with the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, has released a comprehensive plan to support recovery and rebuilding efforts across the Los Angeles region following the January wildfires. The in-depth Project Recovery report addresses a wide range of critical issues, including debris removal, labor and supply chain challenges, accelerated rebuilding processes, property insurance, mortgage forbearance, infrastructure restoration funding, and the establishment of community rebuilding authorities to help coordinate recovery efforts.

Kev Zoryan worked with the team on this important initiative, participating on Project Recovery’s Organizing and Governance Committee and as a team leader supporting the Financial Strategies Committee. He joined more than 30 industry professionals who volunteered their time and expertise alongside ULI, UCLA, and USC to help shape the report and its recommendations.

The comprehensive, 175-page Project Recovery report, reflecting expertise among nine high-level working groups, provides tangible goals as it identifies recovery roadblocks and proposes actionable recommendations.
